There's no denying it, there's no better cuisine than Taiwanese food.
Yea, I'm biased, so what :P
Everytime I come back to Taiwan, I'm always amazed by how fast the food scene in Taipei evolves and Taiwanese people's love for food. Oh, and Taiwanese people love to wait in line, rain or shine. Our curiousity always gets the best of us when we see a a group of people lining up in front of a store or pushcart as we end up waiting in line just like the rest or when the smell hit our nose. I'm an living example of that haha.
Heading back to the States in a few days, thus ending my two month's stay in Asia. This summer has been an amazing experience. Shanghai has it charms that's totally different from any other cities that I've been to.
Here's one of my favorite quotes about Taiwan from one of my favorite chef, Anthony Bourdain: "I got absolutely shit-faced drunk and ended up in a [KTV]. I guess I've violated all of my principles now." I think that paraphrased a lot of people's experience in Taiwan. Awesome :D
The flight wasn't that bad, except for the food hahaha (but that's normal :P). I watched 4 movies: Rescue Dawn, Shoot Em Up, Stardust and The Bourne Ultimatum. My eyes hurt so much still.
But on the way here... wow so many problems. First, a plane was parked behind ours for some freaking reason so the flight was delayed for 40 minutes. PARKED!!! It's LAX not freakin' Costco. It's... the most retarded reason ever since they can't find the person who "pushes" planes into their spot at the airport. Halfway on the flight, these two little motherfuckers started watching Superbad so they keep on laughing so loud that everyone got pissed at them and told them to shut up at least... 30+ times. After I've arrived, I had to take the express bus to Taipei since it was so late already and on my stop, a lady who got off right before me accidentally took my luggage, called a taxi and BOUNCED while I was frantically trying to find my luggage. Good thing that all the taxi in Taiwan has radios so one driver is nice enough to radio in the previous taxi to bring them back... Gave me a scared too... on Christmas eve hahah.
Oh and I can NEVER EVER imagine that the first person I would see in Taiwan would be KAS. HAHAHA we were on the same flight. Random shiz ya?
Aiite hopefully I won't have jetlag. The number to contact me in Taiwan for now is 27012297 (home number). I think I'll be getting a cell soon. Not sure though.
It's approaching the end of 2007, and as usual, I'm procrastinating during finals week hahah. Honestly, this past year was just amazing. From AKPsi to all the new things I experienced this year, I think I might actually miss San Diego a little bit when I either move back home or up north. I'm starting to get over "I'm graduating soon so I gotta get a job." Yes, it's important to find a job but I think it's also important to enjoy the last year of my college career. That might sound like an excuse but hey, life is all about spontaneity right? (I think I spelled the word wrong hahaha).
I'm gonna go to Shanghai for the summer for a Business Chinese program through UCLA. It's my last chance to do any summer abroadd so I'm really really excited. Hopefully, someone I know will go on the program with me, cause the more the merrier haha.
Christmas is coming... AGAIN, which means, my wallet will stay empty for a bit longer. My bank account was already slowing bleeding money because the Mammoth trip that I'll be going on in 3 days (w00t) and the plane ticket to Taiwan. I'm paying for all of Mammoth and half of the ticket to Taiwan so money's a bit tight these days.... SIGH, but it's gonna be money well spent. Why? Cause I know it will be :]
Chris Brown's new CD is damn good. Go listen to it. Victoria's Secret Fashion Show wasn't as good as last years .
Again, congrats to my lil bro Randi and the whole Alpha Xi for crossing. You guys had a loooong pledging period.
